What to know about roadside pricing.

Starting pricesPrices shown above are starting prices and are not a guaranteed flat rate for every service call.
Location & distanceYour final price may change based on where you are located, travel distance, accessibility, or the amount of time required to reach you.
Vehicle & service conditionsVehicle type, service complexity, roadside conditions, difficult access, or additional work may affect the final price.
After-hours requestsRequests between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM include the listed $30 after-hours service charge.
Fuel deliveryThe $59 starting service price does not include the cost of the fuel delivered.
Tire serviceTire repair depends on the condition of the tire, damage location, and whether a safe tire plug is appropriate. If not, a usable spare may be installed.
No surprise price changes. If the final price needs to change after reviewing your location, vehicle, or service conditions, Vanguard will communicate the updated price before service begins.

By submitting a roadside request, you are requesting service based on the starting prices and pricing conditions shown above. Final pricing is confirmed based on the actual location and service details.

Focused services

Four common roadside problems, handled through one simple request flow.

Repair before replacement

For tire service, a safely repairable tire may be saved instead of automatically defaulting to the spare.

Built for mobile

The experience is designed for the device you are most likely to have with you when roadside trouble happens.

How Coverage Works

Vanguard Roadside is not limited to a single city boundary. Drivers can submit both primary-area and extended-distance requests for tire assistance, battery jump starts, vehicle lockouts, and fuel delivery. Extended-distance coverage is evaluated using the exact vehicle location, travel distance, current availability, service type, road access, and conditions at the call.

If distance or service conditions change the starting price, Vanguard communicates the updated amount before work begins. That keeps an out-of-area request tied to the real trip required to reach the vehicle instead of advertising a flat service radius that may not reflect actual availability.

Plug-first tire approach.

A flat or damaged tire does not always require a tire change. When the tire is otherwise in suitable condition and the damage is in an area that can be safely plugged, Vanguard can evaluate roadside plugging first. If a tire plug is not appropriate, a usable spare can be installed.

Each call is evaluated differently.

A jump-start depends on safe battery access. A lockout depends on vehicle and access conditions. Fuel delivery depends on the vehicle location and the fuel delivered. Supplying those details helps Vanguard evaluate the call before service is coordinated.

The service request form collects the information needed to understand what happened and where you are.

What does Vanguard consider local service?

The standard local service area is approximately 20 miles around Dover, Kentucky.

Can you repair my tire instead of changing it?

If the tire can be safely plugged, Vanguard will evaluate a tire plug before defaulting to a spare. Plug suitability depends on tire condition, damage location, and whether a safe roadside tire plug is appropriate.

What if my tire cannot be plugged?

If a tire plug is not appropriate and you have a usable spare, the spare can be installed so the vehicle can get moving again.

How far does Vanguard travel for roadside service?

Vanguard considers approximately 20 miles around Dover, Kentucky to be the standard local area. Extended-distance requests can be accepted up to approximately 65 miles from the Dover area, subject to availability, travel distance, service type, access, and roadside conditions.

Can distance change the roadside service price?

Yes. The listed prices are starting prices. Travel distance, vehicle type, accessibility, service complexity, and roadside conditions can change the final price. Any updated price is communicated before service begins.

Is there an after-hours charge?

Yes. Requests between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM include the listed $30 after-hours service charge.

Can I share my location from my phone?

Yes. The request form includes a location-sharing button when browser location access is available, or you can enter a street, landmark, parking lot, or current location manually.

Can I call instead of using the form?

Yes. Drivers can call Vanguard Roadside directly at (502) 390-7850 instead of submitting the online request form.
